The new-build landscaping calendar in BC
When permits are issued, when framing finishes and when yards get done: a month-by-month timing guide for landscapers who chase new construction.

January to March: permits pile up
Cities issue a steady stream of residential permits through winter. Builders are planning, not pouring. This is the cheapest time to introduce yourself: fewer trades are calling.
April to June: sites open
Excavation and foundations. The builders you contacted in winter are now on site. Follow up with a site walk offer. Most exterior contracts for summer are signed in this window.
July to September: yards get built
Framing and roofing finish; landscaping, fencing and driveways go in. If you haven’t been in touch by July, you’re competing with whoever the builder used last time.
October to December: the next cycle starts
Permit volumes stay solid through fall. Start the list for next year and re-contact repeat builders whose permits keep appearing.
